Privacy Policy

Sedare is an AI platform that helps families handle the administrative side of estate settlement. We know you are trusting us during one of life's hardest moments. We take that seriously.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. We have written it in plain English on purpose.
What we collect
Death certificate image
When you upload a death certificate, we receive that image or PDF file. We use it to extract the structured data needed to generate notification letters. The file is processed immediately and is not stored on our servers after your session ends.
Name and email address
If you submit the "Notify Me" form on our homepage, we collect your name and email address so we can contact you when new features or updates are available. We use a third-party service called formsubmit.co to receive these submissions.
Usage information
Our hosting provider (Render) automatically logs standard server information — your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use this only to keep the service running and secure.
How we use your information
We use your information only for the purpose you provided it:
- —Death certificate images are used solely to extract data fields and generate your notification letters.
- —Email addresses from the notification form are used to send product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- —Server logs are used for security monitoring and to diagnose technical problems.
We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers or data brokers. Full stop.
How long we keep your data
Death certificate files: Not retained. Your certificate is processed in memory during your session and is not written to permanent storage. When your session ends, the file is gone.
Notify Me email addresses: Kept until you ask us to remove them. Email brand@sedare.ai and we will delete your address within 48 hours.
Server logs: Retained for up to 30 days and then automatically deleted by our hosting provider.
Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to run Sedare:
- —Render — cloud hosting provider. Processes all web traffic and stores server logs.
- —formsubmit.co — handles email form submissions from our homepage notification form.
We do not use advertising trackers, social media pixels, or analytics services that profile individual users.
Security
All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (the lock icon in your address bar). Death certificate images are processed over encrypted connections and are never written to disk.
We do not guarantee any system is completely secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information and we have deliberately designed Sedare to retain as little data as possible.
Your rights
You have the right to request that we delete any personal information we hold about you. Because we do not retain death certificate images, the primary data we may hold is your email address (if you submitted the notification form).
To request deletion, email us at brand@sedare.ai with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will respond within 48 hours.
Children's privacy
Sedare is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received information from a child under 13, please contact us at brand@sedare.ai and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service evolves. If we make material changes, we will note the updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Sedare after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
